In a profile-grinding unit with at least two tool holders (7, 8) which are fastened in a frame and to which a grinding tool (2, 3) is fastened in each case for machining workpieces (1) transported past the profile-grinding unit in a working plane (4), the tool holders (7, 8) being arranged in various angular positions and their tools (2, 3) complementing one another for the desired profile shape, the advantages of a uniform grinding operation, despite the use of several tools (2, 3), can be achieved in that the tool holders (7, 8) are arranged essentially at the same level in the transport direction, and in that the tools (2, 3) of two adjacent tool holders (7, 8) form the desired profile shape in an interlocking manner by the edges pointing towards one another being designed with a complementary tooth system. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Profilschleifaggregat mit wenigstens zwei in einem Rahmen befestigten Werkzeughaltern (7, 8), an denen jeweils ein Schleifwerkzeug (2, 3) zum Bearbeiten von an dem Profilschleifaggregat in einer Arbeitsebene (4) vorbeitransportierten Werkstücken (1) befestigt ist, wobei die Werkzeughalter (7, 8) in verschiedenen Winkelstellungen angeordnet sind und sich ihre Werkzeuge (2, 3) zu der gewünschten Profilform ergänzen, lassen sich die Vorteile eines einheitlichen Schleifvorganges trotz der Verwendung mehrere Werkzeuge (2, 3) dadurch erzielen, daß die Werkzeughalter (7, 8) in Transportrichtung im wesentlichen auf gleicher Höhe angeordnet sind und daß die Werkzeuge (2, 3) zweier benachbarter Werkzeughalter (7, 8) durch eine komplementär gezahnte Ausbildung der zueinander zeigenden Kanten ineinandergreifend die gewünschte Profilform bilden.
