[origin: EP0445361A1] A marking device (1) for cables (2) or such lines, having a sleeve (3) which can be plugged onto the cable (2), and preferably also a tool (10) has particularly favourably shaped marking (6) with respect to its hollow cross-section, which marking (6) fits into a channel (5) of the sleeve (3) which runs parallel to the cable (2).
