Abstract (en)
Hitherto, only one roller carrier, which is connected to the supporting frame, has been used to support the metal strand emerging from the strip casting plant. However, it is a disadvantage here that, if required, the roller carrier can only be adjusted as a whole, i.e. as a complete unit, relative to the strand of cast metal and does not allow any adjustment and/or setting, in particular fine setting, in mutually separate zones relative to the cast strand. According to the invention, in contrast, adjustment and/or setting of the rollers of the roller carrier relative to the cast strand is possible in a simple manner in any desired zone by virtue of the fact that the roller carrier (3) is divided into a plurality of roller-carrying segments (5) which are connected to adjusting devices (6, 7, 8, 9, 10).

Bislang hat man zur Stützung des aus der Vorband-Gießanlage austretenden Metallstranges nur einen Rollenträger benutzt, der mit dem Tragrahmen verbunden ist. Hierbei ist jedoch von Nachteil, daß der Rollenträger im Bedarfsfalle nur insgesamt, d.h. als ganzer gegen den Metallgießstrang verstellt werden kann und keine Verstellung und/oder Einstellung, insbesondere Feineinstellung in voneinander getrennten Bereichen gegen den Gießstrang ermöglicht. Gemäß der Erfindung wird jedoch demgegenüber in jedem beliebigen Bereich eine Verstellung und/oder Einstellung der Rollen des Rollenträgers gegen den Gießstrang in einfacher Weise dadurch ermöglicht, daß der Rollenträger (3) in mehrere, rollentragende Segmente (5) aufgeteilt ist, die mit Verstelleinrichtungen (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) in Verbindung stehen.
