[origin: EP0463203A1] Guide method for the electric drives (8) of rollers of a continuous-casting plant, the strand being withdrawn from the continuous-casting mould by the driven rollers, the drives (8) of which are controlled individually, and the setpoint for the roller drives (8) being selected as a function of load. The installation for carrying out the method comprises an automation unit (1), e.g. a programmable controller, which is connected to a display unit (2) for the display of the operating condition, to an input unit for the input of operating parameters, e.g. casting rate setpoint (VG) and operating mode, and to the individual controllers (3, 4, 5) of roller drives (8) for the transmission of setpoints. <IMAGE>
