The invention relates to a sand mould for the production of aluminium cylinder heads, the said mould having a cavity (3) which is bounded by a pattern plate (2) and is designed to accommodate a core assembly (4). A casting gate (5) and at least one riser (6, 7) are formed in the sand mould (1). To reduce the reject rate and the waste, the riser (6, 7) is designed as a blind hole open towards the cavity and an exothermally reacting material is arranged in the blind hole. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Sandgußform zur Herstellung von Zylinderköpfen aus Aluminium, die einen von einer Modellplatte (2) begrenzten Hohlraum (3) zur Aufnahme eines Kernpaketes (4) aufweist. In der Sandgußform (1) sind ein Gießtrichter (5) sowie mindestens ein Steiger (6, 7) ausgebildet. Zur Verringerung der Ausschußquote sowie des Gußabfalls ist vorgesehen, den Steiger (6, 7) als zum Hohlraum offenes Sackloch auszubilden und in dem Sackloch ein exotherm reagierendes Material anzuordnen. <IMAGE>
