Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0501913A1] In order to increase the working capacity of a winding machine (10), above all of the cop-preparing station (12), the preparation locations for normal cops (18) are arranged in series in a first preparation line, whilst the problematic cases where the yarn end is difficult to find are guided to a further preparation line (42) arranged parallel to the first-mentioned preparation line (40) and comprising a preparation location for the problematic cases. This prevents the problematic cases, which require a treatment lasting longer, from lowering the working capacity of the cop-preparing station (12) as a whole. Other solutions allow the treatment of the problematic cases only when sufficient working supply is present in the circulation buffer (14) of the winding machine (10). <IMAGE>
