A vertically adjustable platform trestle for constructing theatre stages or the like has a platform (1), carried by scissor-type lifting members (5), and a motor-driven spindle drive (50) acting on the movable scissor-leg ends (12) and intended for raising the scissor-type lifting members (5). So that the platform trestle can be raised without any problems from a very low base level, an auxiliary lifting device (51) which can likewise be driven by the spindle drive (50) is arranged in the centre of the platform trestle. When the spindle drive (50) is switched on in the basic position of the platform trestle, the lifting device (51) first of all raises only the platform trestle by an initial height of lift, in the course of which the spindle drive (50) runs idle at the movable scissor-leg ends (12). The spindle drive (50) acts on the movable scissor-leg ends (12) only towards the end of the initial height of lift, whereas the auxiliary lifting device (51) then runs idle. <IMAGE>

Ein höhenverstellbarer Podestbock zum Aufbau von Theaterbühnen oder dgl. besitzt eine von Hubscheren (5) getragene Plattform (1) und an den beweglichen Scherenschenkelenden (12) angreifenden motorischen Spindelantrieb (50) zum Aufrichten der Hubscheren (5). Um den Podestbock aus einer sehr niedrigen Grundhöhe problemlos hochfahren zu können, ist in der Podestbockmitte eine ebenfalls vom Spindelantrieb (50) antreibbare Hilfs-Hubeinrichtung (51) angeordnet, die beim Einschalten des Spindelantriebes (50) in der Podestbockgrundstellung zunächst allein den Podestbock um einen Anfangshub aufrichtet, wobei der Angriff des Spindelantriebes (50) an den beweglichen Scherenschenkelenden (12) leerläuft. Erst gegen Ende des Anfangshubes wirkt der Spindelantrieb (50) auf die beweglichen Scherenschenkelenden (12) ein, während dann die Hilfs-Hubeinrichtung (51) leerläuft. <IMAGE>
