[origin: EP0556721A1] The invention relates to an iron sole plate comprising a body (1) which is heated by means of an electrical resistor (2) and of which one face called the lower face (6) is intended to be covered by an added thin metal sheet (7) which is fixed by crimping of its edge (8) over the peripheral rim (9) of the body, the outer face (10) of which sheet is intended to form an ironing surface. According to the invention, the metal sheet (7) initially exhibits a slight camber directed towards the body (1), and the lower face (6) of the body exhibits a slight concavity, in such a way that the metal sheet (7), once fixed on the body (1), is held flat by elasticity against the lower face (6) of the body. <IMAGE>
