The method comprises the steps of: determining a danger zone in relation to which a magnetic risk is to be estimated (2); determining the spatial coordinates of said zone relative to a naval vessel reference point (12); and using an on-board modelling system providing a real-time estimate of the vessel's magnetic risk according to the vessel's position relative to said zone (a,b,c).
