Abstract (en)

The present invention relates to a helmet, especially a plastic protective helmet for cyclists, and to a method of manufacturing it. To achieve the object of the invention, to provide a plastic helmet which can be produced at a considerably lower manufacturing cost, but with increased resistance to loading, it is proposed to manufacture the helmet in dual-wall (2, 3) construction from blow-moulded plastic. Furthermore, means are to be provided, which bring about a reinforcement of the walls (2, 3) of the helmet (1) relative to one another under compression loading, it being possible for these means to be implemented, preferably, in the form of openings (e.g. 30). <IMAGE>

Abstract (de)

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Helm, insbesondere Fahrradsturzhelm aus Kunststoff sowie ein Verfahren zu dessen Herstellung. Zur Lösung der Aufgabe der Erfindung, einen Helm aus Kunststoff zur Verfügung zu stellen, der mit wesentlich geringeren Herstellungskosten aber erhöhter Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen Beanspruchungen fabrizierbar ist, wird vorgeschlagen, den Helm aus geblasenem Kunststoff doppelwandig (2, 3) herzustellen. Ferner sollen Mittel vorgesehen sein, die eine Versteifung der Wände (2, 3) des Helms (1) bei Druckbeanspruchung zueinander bewirken, wobei diese Mittel vorzugsweise in Form Durchbrüchen (z.B. 30) realisiert werden können. <IMAGE>
