Abstract (en)
The painting process includes application of the paint coating as normal on to the vehicle surface - which may be ferrous, non-ferrous, plastic or composite. Before reticulation of the paint, the surface is treated with ultrasound radiation. The paint is then subject to the normal processes to accelerate and complete the coating. The irradiation is achieved with a number of ultrasound transducers (6-10) surrounding the object to be painted. They include supports which allow them to be moved in a direction perpendicular to the vehicle surface. The transducers define a band of irradiation about the vehicle which may then be moved relative to the transducer assembly.

Le but de l'invention est l'amélioration de l'aspect visuel d'un revêtement ou d'une peinture de finition appliqués sur support métal ferreux ou non ferreux, de matériaux plastique ou composite. Le procédé de revêtement selon l'invention comporte essentiellement les étapes suivantes : on applique sur la surface à traiter de façon habituelle une peinture, on traite l'ensemble de cette surface avant réticulation de la peinture par un rayonnement ultrasonique, on procède aux opérations habituelles assurant ou accélérant la réticulation du revêtement. Un dispositif pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé comporte une pluralité de transducteurs ultrasoniques disposés sur des supports (6-10) enveloppant l'objet à peindre (4) suivant des tranches perpendiculaires à la direction de défilement (F) et comportant des moyens (61-101) permettant leur translation perpendiculaire à la surface à traiter. <IMAGE>
