Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9322717A1] A step switch for step transformers has a motor drive with a driving unit and an information unit. Whereas the driving unit contains in a manner known per se the driving motor and its control that actuates it depending on the direction of the rotation, the information unit contains, according to the invention, the following means: a sensor for detecting the absolute value of the instant position of the step switch; non-volatile storage means for the step position; non-volatile storage means for the position of the step switch within a step position range; means for recognizing an end position of the step switch; programmable means for storing specific step switch data; serial data processing electronic means; electronic means for controlling and monitoring the switching process and an electric connection with the regulator and other display, operation and control means that consists of a single serial data line.
