[origin: EP0678349A1] The ingot die, whose parts are joined to one another by means of shrinkage, for extrusion of flat ingots incorporates an inner sleeve (1) with an opening (5) with a width (A) and a height (a) corresp. respectively to the major and minor axes of the ingot cross section. The amt. of shrinkage (S) used to join its parts (1, 2) to one another varies from a max. at the major axis (A) to a min. at the minor axis (a). <IMAGE>
