The method for embossing a protrusion into a sheet-metal blank with thickness variations is characterised in the fact that the blank (4) is transported along a transport section, and is embossed without interruption of the transport process. The transport section incorporates an embossing tool (12, 12') which can move in both embossing and blank transport directions. <IMAGE>

In Platinen (4) aus Blechteilen unterschiedlicher Dicke werden Sicken eingeprägt, um die Platinen (4) stapelbar zu machen. Die Einprägung erfolgt entlang einer Förderstrecke durch drehende Prägemittel (12, 12'). Dadurch ist es möglich, die Prägung bei ungehindertem Vorschub der Platine (4) vorzunehmen, was den Durchsatz erhöht. <IMAGE>
