The advancing and cutting appts. uses a strip (12) which is unwound from a reel (11) and passed between motor-driven feed rollers (16,17) to the cutter (18) which comprises a fixed blade (19) and a moving blade (21) on a rotary shaft (20). The rotational speed and angular position of the shaft are maintained in direct proportion to those of the feed rollers by rigid coupling of the respective drives so that the lengths (A) cut from the end of the strip are equal. When the machine comes to a standstill, the blade and feed rollers are stopped simultaneously and restarted in synchronism.

Vorrichtung (10) zum Vorschub einer Einwickelmaterialbahn (12) und zum Abtrennen einzelner Materialabschnitte (A) von der Bahn (12) für eine Verpackungsmaschine, mit mindestens einer angetriebenen Vorschubwalze (16) und mit einer angetriebenen Schneideinrichtung (18). Um die Einwickelmaterialbahn in besonders einfacher Weise kontinuierlich vorzuschieben und gleichmäßig große Einwickelmaterialabschnitte hiervon abzutrennen, ohne daß es zu Störungen im Betriebsablauf kommt, wird mit der Erfindung vorgeschlagen, daß die Schneideinrichtung (18) mindestens ein umlaufendes Messer (20,21) aufweist, dessen Drehgeschwindigkeit und Drehwinkel (Θ) direkt proportional zur Drehgeschwindigkeit bzw. zum Drehwinkel (δ) der Vorschubwalze ist. Durch die strenge Koppelung der Antriebe für den Vorschub und das umlaufende Messer wird sichergestellt, daß immer Materialabschnitte (A) gleichbleibender Länge von der Bahn abgetrennt werden und daß im Falle des Stillstands der Verpackungsmaschine Messer und Vorschubwalze gleichzeitig stillgesetzt und hiernach gleichzeitig wieder angefahren werden können. <IMAGE>
