Abstract (en)
The adjustable continuous billet casting mould consists of two stationary side walls and two end walls (10), with at least one end wall movable relative to the other. The end walls are provided with a coolant chamber (80) and several channels (88) for applying coolant to the billet material. The mould has an additional coolant chamber (90) and channels (94) in its end walls (10). The channels (94) are arranged so that coolant from them is applied to the billet material after coolant from the channels (88). Also claimed are a method for operating such a mould and an application of the mould for production of light-metal (in particular, aluminium and magnesium alloy) billets.

Regulierbare Stranggiesskokille (60) zur Herstellung von Stranggussbarren (54) unterschiedlicher Abmessungen, enthaltend einen Kokillenrahmen (62) mit einem Paar gegenüberliegender stationärer Seitenwände (20) und einem Paar gegenüberliegender Stirnwände (10), wobei wenigstens eine Stirnwand (10) verschiebbar angeordnet ist, und jede Seiten- (20) und Stirnwand (10) eine erste Kühlmittelkammer (80) und eine Vielzahl mit der ersten Kühlmittelkammer (80) in Verbindung stehende, erste Kühlmittelkanäle (88) zur Kühlmittelbeaufschlagung des Stranggussmaterials aufweist. Die verschiebbaren Stirnwände (10) weisen eine zweite Kühlmittelkammer (90), sowie eine Vielzahl mit der zweiten Kühlmittelkammer (90) in Verbindung stehende, zweite Kühlmittelkanäle (94) zur weiteren Kühlmittelbeaufschlagung des Stranggussmaterials auf, wobei die zweiten Kühlmittelkanäle (94) derart angeordnet sind, dass das aus den zweiten Kühlmittelkanälen (94) austretende Kühlmittel, in Fliessrichtung des Stranggussmaterials gesehen, nach dem aus den ersten Kühlmittelkanälen (88) austretenden Kühlmittel auf das Stranggussmaterial auftrifft. <IMAGE>
