Abstract (en)
Steel comprises by weight 0.02-0.06% niobium, 0.25-0.35% copper, 0.4-0.7% chromium, about 0.25% nickel, at least 0.02% aluminium and up to 0.12% carbon, 1.70% manganese, 0.020% phosphorous, 0.015% sulphur, 0.5% silicon and 0.010% nitrogen. It has an elastic limit of at least 420 N, a breaking strength of 500-630 N, an elongation of at least 21% and forms a protective oxide coating. Impact tests on samples of thickness 6mm or more show strength corresponding to 40 Joules lengthwise and 27 Joules widthwise.
