Abstract (en)
The method involves pressing a metal blank (10) to form a cup (11) with a base (12) and an edge (13). A second stage involves forming a rough form (15) with a base (16) and a peripheral skirt (17) formed by drawing the edge of the cup (11). a third stage involves calibrating the rough form over its whole height on the peripheral skirt to provide a selected nominal perimeter. The final stage involves shaping the peripheral skirt to form the lateral wall of the can. The calibrating stage can be performed by reducing the perimeter. The perimeter can be reduced between the base of the can and the free edge of the skirt.

L'invention a pour objet un procédé de fabrication d'une boîte métallique de forme (1) comprenant un fond (2) et une paroi latérale (3) venue de matière avec ledit fond, ladite paroi latérale (3) comportant au moins une zone mise en forme (5). Le procédé consiste à réaliser par emboutissage une coupelle comportant un fond et un bord, à former une ébauche formée d'un fond et d'une jupe périphérique réalisée par étirage du bord de la coupelle, à calibrer l'ébauche sur toute la hauteur de sa jupe périphérique pour l'amener à un périmètre nominal déterminé et à mettre en forme la jupe périphérique de l'ébauche pour obtenir la paroi latérale (3) de la boîte (1). L'invention a également pour objet une boîte métallique du type boîte-boisson obtenue par ce procédé. <IMAGE>
