[origin: EP0947442A1] A soft-sided cigarette packet is assembled from a flat blank with a series of folding panels forming the bottom, top, front and back of the packet, which is assembled by folding and gluing. The side flaps forming the adhesive surfaces are pre-treated with a bonding agent that then dries. The bonding agent is activated by water-soluble glue in the packaging machine.
