Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1005932A2] Hollow cylinder with inner teeth is plastically formed by a device incorporating a press matrix and press die. The press matrix comprises a counter bearing (4) and ring-shaped cover (3) for accommodating a cylindrical blank (8) with central hole. The press die has a cylindrical pin (1b) and tooth-cutting tool (1a). The diameter of the pin corresponds to the inner diameter of the blank with a slight under-dimension. The tooth-cutting tool on its outer periphery is provided with the profile (6) of the desired inner teeth of the hollow cylinder. The counter bearing (4) has a cavity (7) for accommodation of the pin when the tooth cutting tool is moved completely inwards.
