Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2770232A1] Method for preparing regenerated cellulose thread or fiber consists of spinning a solution of a cellulose derivative, or passing said derivative in molten state through at least one spinning channel, and regenerating cellulose by treatment of thread. Method for preparing regenerated cellulose thread or fiber comprises synthesizing a silylated cellulose derivative by reaction with cellulose and a silylation agent selected from alkoxysilane and alkoxysiloxanes, and recovering alcohol corresponding to alkoxy group; extracting said derivative ; spinning said derivative in solution or passing it in molten state through at least one spinning channel; treating said thread with desilylation agent to regenerate cellulose and recover an alkyldisiloxane; and, optionally, regenerating the alkoxysilane by reaction between the recovered alcohol and the alkyldisiloxane. An Independent claim is also included for the use of said thread in making woven or non-woven fabrics; and as reinforcement for elastomeric structures.
