[origin: US6371027B1] A method for cleaning cylinders of rotary printing presses simplifies the changing of cleaning cloths. The exact effective length of the cleaning cloth available for the cleaning process can also be determined in the course of changing the cleaning cloth. A fresh supply roller carrying a fresh cleaning cloth 5 is inserted into the second cleaning cloth depot for replacing the soiled supply roll. The start of the cleaning cloth on the fresh supply roller is fixed in place on a spindle located in the first cleaning cloth depot and the fresh cleaning cloth is wound onto the spindle to form a fresh supply roll while determining the length of cloth wound on the spindle. The end of the fresh cleaning cloth remains in the second cleaning cloth depot and now forms the receiving roll during the cleaning process.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Einrichtung zum Reinigen von Zylindern in Rotationsdruckmaschinen. Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, ein Verfahren und eine Einrichtung zu entwickeln, durch das der Waschtuchwechsel vereinfacht wird und im Zuge des Waschtuchwechsels mit wenig Aufwand die exakte wirksame Länge des für den Waschprozeß zur Verfügung stehenden Waschtuches ermittelt werden kann. Erfindungsgemäß wird die Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, dass zum Ersatz des Vorratswickels (22) ein neue Vorratsrolle (2') in das zweite Waschtuch-Depot (3) eingelegt wird, zum Herstellen der Betriebsbereitschaft der Anfang des Waschtuches (5) der neuen Vorratsrolle (2') auf eine in dem ersten Waschtuch-Depot (1) befindliche Spindel (21) fixiert und das Waschtuch (5) zur Bildung eines neuen Vorratswickels (22) unter Erfassung der aufgewickelten Länge auf die Spindel (21) aufgewickelt wird, wobei das Ende des Waschtuches (5) im zweiten Waschtuch-Depot (3) verbleibt und so während des Waschvorganges den Aufnahmewickel (42) bildet. <IMAGE>
