[origin: WO0049675A1] A circuit arrangement for switching a transmission characteristic of an HF line (2) between a first state for the transmission of a first frequency f1 (wavelength lambda 1) and a second state for the transmission of a second frequency f2 within the range of a higher harmonic of f1, comprising a lambda 1/4 line element (5) which is connected to the HF line and can be switchably connected to a low ohmic terminating element. The lambda 1/4 line (5) represents approximately a lambda 2/2 line for the higher frequency f2. If this is short-circuited against the ground, the higher frequency f2 and the harmonic of frequency f1 are also short-circuited, while the signals of frequency f1 are transmitted with low attenuation. If the connection between the line element and the ground is interrupted, both frequencies are transmitted with low attenuation. The circuit arrangement can be more specifically used for switchable suppression of the harmonic waves in the base frequency of an HF transmitter or an HF transmitter/receiver located within the range of a second operating frequency.
