[origin: WO0053353A1] The invention relates to a method for circularly bending a sheet (2) using a circular bending device (10) which has cylinders (1, 5). The method is characterised in that at least one first partial area (2c) of the sheet is bent round in a first step. At least one second partial area (2d) of the sheet is bent round in a second step. During the bending of the second partial area (2d), an advance direction (11b) of the sheet is selected in such a way that an area (2e) of the second partial area (2d) that is being bent moves against the first partial area (2c). The invention also relates to a multicylinder circular-bending device for carrying out the method.
