[origin: EP1195210A2] Disclosed is a system for use in a continuous cast mould in which coolant is applied to a castpart (53) emerging from a mould, and which controls the flow of coolant back toward the mould inlet (22). More particularly, this invention relates to the creation of a forced or baffle fluid barrier (62), preferably gas, which prevents coolant from moving against the direction of movement of the emerging castpart and back toward the mould inlet
