Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1226889A2] In a metal casting process to manufacture an item using two different metals, a first molten metal is cast into a first form and cooled. Part of the casting surface has especially a roughened surface created by an insert. The first cast component is then inserted into a second larger form and the second charge of molten metal introduced around the first casting.
