Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1245301A2] The tensile drawing assembly, for steel and other metal strip materials in a thickness of 0.1-4.0 mm, has an initial drawing zone (R1) with a set of brake rollers (1-4) and a powered roller (5). The powered roller and a set of drawing rollers (6-9) form a second drawing zone (R2). The length of the two drawing zones is at least 0.5 times the maximum strip width and up to at least 1000 times the maximum strip width. The brake rollers have an adjustable convex/concave contour. The in-line crossbow curvature is measured on-line for curvature correction. The drawn strip is measured on-line for flatness, for corrections to the drawing process.
