The drum is rotatably mounted in a washing medium container, has a hollow cylindrical casing and two covering surfaces, an opening in the casing or one covering surface for receiving a wash and scoop ribs on the inside of the casing forming one-piece components of the casing and at least approximately parallel to the drum's axis. The scoop ribs have a trough-shaped surface contour that is closed on all sides as far as outlet openings. The drum is rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis in a washing medium container, has a hollow cylindrical casing (1.1) and two covering surfaces, an opening in the casing or one covering surface for receiving a wash and scoop ribs (3) on the inside of the casing forming one-piece components of the casing and at least approximately parallel to the drum's axis. Die Erfindung betrifft eine Waschmaschinentrommel, die im Inneren eines Laugenbehälters um eine wenigstens annähernd horizontale Achse drehbar gelagert ist und einen hohlzylindrischen Mantel (1.1) und zwei Deckflächen besitzt, wobei im Mantel (1.1) oder einer der Deckflächen eine Öffnung (6) zur Aufnahme von Wäsche angeordnet ist, mit an der Innenseite des Trommelmantels angeordneten Schöpfrippen (3), welche einstückige Bestandteile des Trommelmantels (1.1) sind und sich wenigstens annähernd parallel zur Trommelachse erstrecken. Um diese bei hoher Festigkeit gleichzeitig einfach und preisgünstig herstellen zu können, wird vorgeschlagen, dass die Schöpfrippen (3) bis auf eventuell vorhandene Auslassöffnungen eine allseitig geschlossene wannenförmige Oberflächenkontur besitzen. Die Erfindung betrifft außerdem ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer solchen Waschmaschinentrommel (1.1). Dabei werden die Schöpfrippen (3) in den Trommelmantel bzw. in eine Blechplatine (1), welche nach dem Runden und Verbinden ihrer Ränder den Trommelmantel (1.1) bildet, durch eine mehrstufige Ziehoperation geprägt und dabei mit einer allseitig geschlossenen, wannenförmigen Oberflächenkontur versehen, welche vor dem Rand des Trommelmantels (1.1) bzw. der Blechplatine (1) endet. <IMAGE>
