[origin: EP1416114A2] The method involves: (1) providing a simple metal profile having a rectangular base plate (4) with an outer web (1) and two inner webs (2,3), the part of base plate protruding beyond the innermost web defining the vertical section of the finished end cap; (2) cutting profile to length; (3) removing a first part (5) of the base plate along the outer web and removing a second part (6) along the innermost web so that the base plate becomes essentially L-shaped with an elongated free outer web section; and (4) bending the free outer web section to be secured to a front edge (8) defined by one of the arms of the L. The end cap has an essentially horizontal section connected to a front section extending essentially in a vertically downwards direction. Two webs extending along a lower edge of the horizontal section are used to locate the end of the window sill and optionally a seal, leaving sufficient space for the angled end of the sill.
