[origin: DE10203659A1] Disclosed is a fuel injection valve (1) for directly injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of a mixture-compressing, externally ignited combustion engine. The inventive fuel injection valve (1) comprises a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator (2) and a valve needle (7) interacting with the actuator (2) via a compensating element (6). A valve closing body (11) interacting with a valve seat (12) to form a sealing seat is configured at the valve needle (7). The compensating element (6) is filled with a rheological fluid (15).
