Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03070140A1] The invention relates to a method for production of absorbent articles having the shape of pants, said method comprising the following production steps : providing individual absorption cores (109; 409; 609), securing the absorption cores (109; 409; 609) to an elastic material web (101, 105; 401, 408; 601") which is advanced continuously in a direction of travel, assembling the individual articles to form a pants shape, cutting out individual articles (104; 404; 604) each comprising an absorption core (109; 409; 609) and a piece of the elastic material web (101, 105; 401, 408; 601"), the cutting-out step and assembling step giving each article (104; 404; 604) two leg openings (114; 414; 614) and a waist opening (124; 424; 624). The elastic material web (101, 105; 401, 408; 601") has an elastic extensibility in the direction of travel of at least 80%, and preferably ate least 100%, and the elastic material web (101, 105; 401, 408;601") during production is stretched a maximum of 5% in the direction of travel of the material web (101, 105; 401, 408; 601").
