[origin: WO03079503A1] The invention relates to a method for the production of a commutator, wherein said commutator comprises a plurality of conductor segments (1) and at least one annular-shaped reinforcing element (11) which engages with the conductor segments (1) on respectively one seat (10), said reinforcing element extending on a plane perpendicular to the commutator axis (2). The reinforcing element (11) is arranged on the conductor segments (1) after which said segments were arranged in a concentric position in relation to the commutator axis (2). The reinforcing element (11) is wound in situ from several windings of a thread (12).
