Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1398699A1] Method for synchronization of external events that are fed to a CPU in order to affect its behavior. Accordingly the events are temporarily stored and then fed to the CPU for processing when called up by its execution unit (EU). This operating mode is entered when a condition, previously set by a command or fixed operating condition, is fulfilled. Independent claims are also made for: (a) a CPU that comprises: at least a program execution unit (EU), at least a counter (CIC), at least a register (MIR) and at least a comparator (K) for switching the execution unit into a special operating mode when the counter unit matches the register unit; (b) and a system comprising at least two such CPUs.
