Es wird eine Vorrichtung zum Zuführen von Faserbändern (2-4) zu einer Wirkmaschine angegeben mit einem Gatter (6), in dem mindestens eine Spule (7-9) angeordnet ist, von der ein Faserband (2-4) abziehbar ist, einem einen Lieferantrieb 831) aufweisenden Lieferwerk (30), durch das das Faserband (2-4) geführt ist, und einem Bandspeicher (21), der eine längenveränderbare Speicherstrecke für das Faserband (2-4) aufweist. Man möchte Faserbänder so bereit stellen, daß sie möglichst gleichmäßig verlegt werden können. Hierzu ist vorgesehen, daß der Bandspeicher (21) zwischen dem Gatter (6) und dem Lieferwerk (30) angeordnet ist und der Bandspeicher (21) einen motorisch angetriebenen Stellantrieb (27) aufweist, mit dem die Länge der Speicherstrecke veränderbar ist, wobei eine Steuereinrichtung vorgesehen ist, die den Stellantrieb (27) und den Lieferantrieb (31) in aufeinander abgestimmter Weise betätigt.
