In a continuous steel casting process molten steel (2) is discharged into a billet guide (8) consisting of a series of segments (9-18) with side rollers held by oscillating side plates. The oscillation is driven by an array of pistons linked to a control system. The advancing billets are exposed to an array of regulated cooling jets (19). The hot molten metal advances along a track in which the metal is simultaneously oscillated and cooled by water jets at a controlled temperature and rate of cooling. The master oscillation rolling regulator station (29) is located at the end of the track. Also claimed is a commensurate steel billet casting assembly.

Ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Stranggießen von flüssigen Stahlwerkstoffen (2) mit einer Strangführung (8) aus Stützrollensegmenten (9-18) messen die Sumpfspitze (23) über einen oszillierenden Segmentoberrahmen (24) oder eine oszillierende Hub-Traverse (28) oder über eine Kraftüberwachung in einem Kolben-Zylinder-Antrieb (25) und regeln die Lage der Sumpfspitze (23) über die Gießgeschwindigkeit und / oder die Sekundärkühlung (10), so dass diese vor einem Master-Stützrollensegment (27), innerhalb des Master-Stützrollensegmentes (27) oder nachfolgend auf das Master-Stützrollensegment (27) fest eingeregelt werden kann, um unterschiedliche Verformungsarten anzuwenden und um eine gleichmäßigere Innenqualität des Warmstrangs (5a) zu erzielen.
