Abstract (en)
A dairy industry heat exchanger has a group of pipes that heat a suspension also incorporating lumpy material or elongated fibers. Prior to introduction to the heat exchanger, the suspension is sub-divided into a number of fractions that are separated by a distance which is at least as wide as the longest fiber component in the suspension. Each fraction passes individually through the heat exchanger.
