Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2005121383A1] The invention relates to a heavy-duty engine component that is tribologically and dynamically highly stressed, in particular that is subjected to sliding wear, such as for example a cam follower, cam, valve actuation lever, valve-clearance compensation element. According to the invention, the engine component is produced from a wear-resistant alloyed tool steel by metal injection moulding. The advantages of a component of this type are that it can be produced with a substantially finished profile and that it has the same wear-resistance over its entire cross-section.
