[origin: DE102007010975A1] The vehicle seat, particularly an automobile seat has a lower rail (21) connected with a vehicle structure (S). An upper rail (22) relative to the lower rail slides in a longitudinal direction of the seat for a longitudinal adjustment of the seat. A fitting lower part (17) is fixed on the upper rail and a backrest structure (14) is fixed on the fitting lower part by a fitting (15), which pivots around a backrest pivoting axis (C). The fitting lower part is hinged on the upper rail by an articulated joint (E).
