The control unit (4) for safely re-enabling a ground fault interrupter (1), which has disconnected a load-side power circuit (2), which is to be protected, using a switch element (S1, S2) in a number of current conductors (L) and a neutral conductor (N), safely from the network-side power network (3), has a review unit (41), a re-enable unit (42), and a voltage supply (43), which is electrically isolated from the network-side power and neutral conductors (L, N).
