The platform edge has a platform edge element formed as a removable, integral platform edge plate (2). A support console (3) comprises a horizontal arm and a vertical arm that is arranged perpendicular to the horizontal arm. The horizontal arm of the support console is formed as a storage part of the platform edge plate. The vertical arm of the support console is formed as a joint of the platform edge plate and a front longitudinal support element of a platform (21). An undercut is formed as an escape refuge (22). A removable or rotatable edge plate is made of wood, concrete or plastic.

Bahnsteigkanten entlang eines Bahnsteigs sind wesentlich für die Fahrsicherheit der Fahrgäste. Bekannte Bahnsteige weisen entweder eine in den Bahnsteig integrierte freitragende Bahnsteigkante oder eine dem Bahnsteig vorgelagerte eigenständige Bahnsteigkante aus komplexen Betonfertigteilen auf, die jeweils auf einer eigenen, dem Bahnsteig vorgelagerten Gründung lagern. Die Montage und Demontage solcher Bahnsteinkanten benötigt längere Ausführzeiten. Die erfindungsgemäße modulare Bahnsteinkante besteht aus einer eigenständigen demontierbaren, einstückigen Bahnsteigkantenplatte (02), die auf dem Horizontalschenkel (04) einer Auflagerkonsole (03) gelagert ist. Der Vertikalschenkel (08) der Auflagerkonsole (03) ist mit dem vorderen Längstragelement (09) des Bahnsteigs (21) verbunden. Montage und Demontage der Bahnsteigkantenplatte (02) sind schnell und einfach durchzuführen. Die Auflagerkonsole (03) ist bevorzugt völlig verstrebungsfrei und gewährleistet eine große Fluchtnische (22) unter sich ohne störende, extra gegründete Stützkonstruktion. Bevorzugt kann die modulare Bahnsteigkante (01) bei Bahnsteigen (21) in Modulbauweise eingesetzt werden. Die modularen Bahnsteigkantenplatten (02) sind dann den modularen Bahnsteigplatten (17) vorgelagert.
