[origin: GB2460039A] An exercise device for releasable attachment about a moveable joint of a user's body comprises at least one selectively variable resistance hub 2 for location on a pivot axis of the moveable joint, first attachment means 6 extending from the hub 2 at a first side of the joint and second attachment means 1 extending from the hub 2 at a second side of the joint which is opposite the first side, the first attachment 6 means being pivotably engaged with the hub 2 . Both attachment means 1, 6 are for releasable connection to the body. The hub 2 may include a resistance device which is in the hub 2 and which is engaged with part of the first attachment means 6 . The resistance device may comprise a fluid and a rotor 16 . The resistance device may further comprise at least three chambers in which the fluid can flow. The resistance device may be a friction device or a spring device. The exercise device may be attached to a leg and foot via the ankle joint or to an arm around the elbow.
