[origin: EP2386389A1] The method involves generating different perforations in areas (10) of a material web (2) by the stationary arranged longitudinal perforation tools (3,4,5). The longitudinal perforation tools lie behind each other in the movement direction (A) of the material web. The perforation tools are selected and activated on the basis of a query of a marking that is provided on the material web. The perforation tools are required for manufacturing a determined perforation image (13) in determined areas of the material web. An independent claim is also included for a device for longitudinal perforation of a movable material web.
