The method involves movably arranging a device for knitting decoration materials of a spangle-or soutache supply device at a machine frame, and moving the device from a resting position into a sticking position in which a drive wheel of the device stays in engagement with a stationary drive shaft for coupling the device with a drive unit. The knitting device is moved from the sticking position into the resting position for decoupling the device from the drive unit, where the drive wheel is externally engaged with the stationary drive shaft in the resting position. An independent claim is also included for a device for knitting decoration materials of a spangle-or soutache supply device.

Ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Vorrichtung (23) zum Bereithalten von Verzierungsmaterialien, wie einer Pailletten- oder Soutachezuführvorrichtung, sieht vor, dass zum Koppeln mit einer Antriebseinheit einer Stickmaschine die ganze Vorrichtung relativ zur Stickmaschine von einer Ruheposition in eine Stickposition bewegt wird, in welcher ein Antriebsrad der Vorrichtung mit einer stationären Antriebswelle in Eingriff gelangt, und zum Entkoppeln, die Vorrichtung von der Stickposition in die Ruheposition bewegt wird, in welcher das Antriebsrad ausser Eingriff mit der stationären Antriebswelle ist. Eine Vorrichtung (23) zur Durchführung des Verfahrens ist mit einem Aktuator (27) ausgestattet ist und weist Befestigungsmittel (43,53) auf, welche einerseits am Aktuator (27) und andererseits am Tragprofil (25) angreifen, sodass bei der Betätigung des Aktuators (27) die Vorrichtung von einer Ruheposition in eine Stickposition bewegbar ist, in welcher das Antriebsrad mit einer an der Stick-, Näh- oder Steppmaschine vorgesehenen, stationären Antriebswelle gekoppelt ist.
