[origin: EP2465697A1] The method involves comparing an actual position of a cover (2) relative to a book block (1) with a preset desired position. A correction value for a specific pairing (P) of an actuator (18-1), which transports the detected cover, and a clamp (6-1), which transports the detected block, is determined during deviations of the actual position from the desired position. The correction value is stored, and change of a position of the clamp and/or the actuator of the pairing corresponding to the correction value is carried out before renewed occurrence of the pairing of the actuator and the clamp. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing adhesively bound printed products e.g. books, brochures and magazines.
