Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014011667A1] Solid State Lighting (SSL) luminaires, and methods for constructing the same, are provided, with the SSLs having enhanced efficacy through precise aiming of mounting surfaces located on an aiming platform with a SSL luminaire housing. Mounting surfaces may have adjustable aiming angles to provide desired light output from an associated light module to a surface to be illuminated. An aiming platform may be stamped and formed from a sheet of metal, and coupled with a SSL luminaire housing. Heat sinks, light modules, and associated electronics may be coupled with the mounting surfaces. In some embodiments, a light module may be coupled to a mounting surface via a gimbaled bolt.
