Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines doppelwandigen Bechers aus Papier oder papierähnlichem Material mit folgenden Schritten: Aufsetzen eines Innenbechers mit einer Hülse und einem Boden auf einem Dorn, Auflegen eines flächigen Segments auf eine Außenseite des Innenbechers gegenüberliegend dem Dorn, Formen des flächigen Segments zu einem Außenmantel, der den Innenbecher umgibt und Fixieren des Außenmantels auf dem Innenbecher mittels stoffschlüssigem Verbinden von Außenmantel und Innenbecher, insbesondere mittels Verkleben, wobei wenigstens ein Abstandshalter auf einer Innenseite des flächigen Segments und/oder auf einer Außenseite der Hülse des Innenbechers vor dem Auflegen des flächigen Segments auf den Innenbecher angebracht wird.
