Abstract (en)

Apparatus (1) for emptying of a four-wall tray (3) and/or a five-wall tray (13) filled with rod like articles (R) of the tobacco industry, whereas one wall (13T') of the five-wall tray (13) is hinged, provided with a filled trays station (2), a turning unit (10) adapted to turn the filled tray (3. 13), a lifting unit (11) adapted to lift the turning unit (10), a filled tray emptying station (23), and an empty trays station (25), with the paths of movement along which the four-wall tray (3) and the five-wall tray (13) are transported being shaped in such a way that they run through operating areas of the units of the apparatus (1), and the mechanisms of the units of the apparatus (1) having adjustable or shiftable gripping or guiding members to be adapted to the mechanisms of both four-wall trays (3) and five-wall trays (13). The apparatus (1) is characterised in that the paths of movement of the tray (3, 13) are traced by the mechanisms of the apparatus (1) and are shaped so that the paths for the four-wall tray (3) and the five-wall tray (13) at least partially overlap. The object of the application is also a method for emptying of the trays (3, 13) using the apparatus (1) according to the invention.
