The transport device (15) additionally has a second transport part (26) with multiple second transport pockets (27). A second clearance S2 is provided between the outer contour of the round blank and the inner contour of the second transport pocket (27), and the second clearance S2 is larger than the first clearance S1. The round blanks are transferred from a respective first transport pocket (20) into a second transport pocket (27) at a transfer point (34). The round blanks are transported to the printing station (17) in the second transport pocket (27), and a coin is printed from the round blank at the printing station.
