Die Erfindung betrifft eine Maschine der Tabak verarbeitenden Industrie (2) zum Beschicken einer Zigarettenstrangmaschine und ein Verfahren zum Betreiben derselben. Die Maschine der Tabak verarbeitenden Industrie (2) zum Beschicken einer Zigarettenstrangmaschine zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass sie als Eingabevorrichtung für zu verarbeitendes Tabakmaterial einen Speicher (6) für folienartig flaches rekonditioniertes Tabakmaterial (8) umfasst, wobei ferner eine Zerkleinerungsvorrichtung (10) umfasst ist, die stromabwärts des Speichers (6) angeordnet und dazu eingerichtet ist, von der Eingabevorrichtung bereitgestelltes rekonditioniertes Tabakmaterial (8) in einem Zerkleinerungsprozess zu Tabak-Kleinteilen (12) zu verarbeiten, und wobei die Maschine (2) ferner eine Fördervorrichtung (14) umfasst, die stromabwärts der Zerkleinerungsvorrichtung (10) angeordnet und dazu eingerichtet ist, die Tabak-Kleinteile (12) zu einem Saugstrangförderer (4) der Zigarettenstrangmaschine zu fördern.
