Die Erfindung betrifft ein Pressmittel zum Verpressen eines Fittings zur abdichtenden Verbindung mit einem Rohr, mit mindestens zwei Presselementen (2, 4) mit einem Aufnahmebereich zum Aufnehmen eines Fittings mit einem Rohr und mit einer an der Innenseite der Presselemente (2, 4) ausgebildeten Presskontur (10), wobei die Presselemente (2, 4) verschwenkbar miteinander verbunden sind, in einer geöffneten Stellung an dem die Presskontur aufweisenden Ende (20, 22) beabstandet sind und nach Abschluss des Verpressens einen geringeren Abstand aufweisen oder aneinander anliegen und dabei eine Schließebene (24) bilden und wobei die Presskontur (10) einen Pressbereich (26, 28, 30) zum abdichtenden Verpressen des Fittings und Pressstege (36, 38) zum fixierenden Verpressen des Fittings aufweist. Das technische Problem, das Verpressen von Fittings mit dünnwandigen Metallrohren zu verbessern, wird dadurch gelöst, dass mindestens ein Presssteg (36, 38) einer der Presselemente (4, 6) eine sich radial nach innen erstreckende Nocke (40, 42) aufweist.
